Hop Hop Half March- 2013 "Inaugural Half Marathon a Month"
Me and my good buddy Michael (he ran MUCH faster than me- 1:20something!)
April- Race for the Roses
my sis-in-law Abbie ran with me most of the way, but she is super fast!
Bridge to Brews 8k-
this wasn't a half, but we convinced my father in law to run with us, it was a blast!
April 2013- Eugene Marathon
This was my second full marathon, finishing on Hayward Field in Eugene, OR. This was very special to me, as Nike was born through two Oregon track greats, Phil and Bill. The course was boring, and the spectators weren't as good as Portland. Luckily I had Garrett, Sabreena and the Thompson's there to cheer me on. I did end up finishing 20 minutes faster than Portland.
May- Keizer Iris Festival Half Marathon
June- Helvetia Half Marathon
July- Sauvie Island Flat Fast Half Marathon with Abbie. Joho was our wonderful cheerleader!
August- Huckleberry Half Marathon in Welches, OR
This was a small, super fun race. The course was great and the people were friendly!
This was my favorite up to this point.
September- Oregon Marathon (I ran the half)
This race was on the Banks-Vernonia trail and was AWESOME. It was pouring rain (buckets) the whole time, but it was really fun. I realized I could PR about the last 3 miles, just didn't finish fast enough, losing my PR by about 14 seconds.
October- Nike Women's Marathon (I ran the half), San Francisco, CA
This will forever go down as my favorite half marathon in the world! The atmosphere was incredible, sharing the experience with such amazing friends was incredible, and receiving a Tiffany necklace from a firefighter while crossing the finish line on a red carpet was incredible!!! And of course being that it is a Nike event, it made it that much more special. It was so great conquering the hills of San Francisco and experiencing the city with great friends.
Me, Sabreena, Keely, Courtney and Nicole
November- EWEB Run to Stay Warm Half Marathon, Eugene, OR
This was wonderful because I ran with some wonderful friends again! The course was boring (same course as the Eugene Marathon) but it wasn't bad with these ladies by my side!
Emily, Me, Veronica and Lydia
December- Holiday Half, Portland, OR
Number 10!!! Can't believe I've reached the double digits. Of course I love any excuse to dress up. Garrett came and cheered me on, rode his bike almost the whole course. I ran this one by myself and finished 44 seconds off my PR.
